Chad’s Euro-Spec Honda Accord

We’ve all seen them, they are all over the roads of America; they’re boring, 4 door family sedans that we’ll just say, don’t exactly inspire excitement.

Enter: Chad Russell’s 2002 4 Door Accord.

You are able to tell right off that this is a special car, with its Euro-R exterior, swapped interior, and CCW Wheels, the car just sticks out. It’s reserved and still manages to turn heads and make a statement. Sometimes the simple and clean builds are the ones that end up looking the best, but this car isn’t just looks. Oh, No. Under the hood is where the real party starts.

This isn’t just a stock accord with some nice exterior bits, the stock engine has been swapped for a built H22 Motor. The all motor H22 puts out a respectable 243 wheel horsepower, and 196 ft/lbs of torque. She’s pretty enough to catch your eye, and she’s got the power to leave you behind.

SMCM Season Opener 2017

Article by: Ben Getchell

Some may say that it’s just a “bunch of cars in a parking lot” or that it’s a “waste of money” to invest so much time, money, and effort into building a the vehicle of your dreams. Well, that may be so…but to a community of 4,000+ enthusiasts, this passion is something completely different. It means building a drag car to run a 10 second quarter mile, because that’s what you have dreamt about since you were a wee young lad. It means slamming your car to the ground, and scraping over speed bumps, because “stance life” is the only life for you. It’s restoring a classic car in your garage at home with the old man, because it’s bonding time over something you have such a strong connection over, the beer is usually cold.

All of this, was put on great display at Southern Maine Car Meet’s Kick-Off event on a chilly day in April in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. It is a seemingly quiet neighborhood, and a tourist attraction of all ages. But, as soon as you rounded the corner onto Pillsbury Ave, it was something much different. The smell of fuel, the sound of blow off valve’s, and the baby blue Lamborghini Huracan that sat at the entrance was a sight rarely seen or heard in the area.

But, Lamborghini’s were not the only cool car attending (although, maybe the most expensive). Everything from old school Volkswagon vans, stanced out Infinity’s, exotics, built muscle cars, and street dominating Evo’s showed out to this event and were proudly put on display. Here is our look into our coverage throughout the entire meet. This show/event season is looking very, very promising and we cant wait to see what the summer has in store for SMCM, and all of us here at Maine’s Finest! Enjoy!
