Club Loose North: Snow Drift

A rally school, drift cars, and a dirt course covered in snow, this is where we found ourselves this past Saturday. ClubLoose North and Team O’Neil Rally School partnered up for Snow Drift; where the Drifters from ClubLoose could unleash their drift missles on a snowy rally course.

The normal parking lot at New Hampshire Motor Speedway had been cast aside for a winding dirt road, tucked in the backwoods of New Hampshire. The course, where the student drivers at Team O’Neil normally learn car control on their way into the rally world, was handed over to the fun loving drift group and a different style of racing was unleashed. The Rally drivers didn’t miss out on all the action either, with several Rally cars hitting the course, forgetting about racing lines and only trying to get as sideways as possible and match the drift cars.

Despite the cold, everyone was in great spirits and looking forward to hitting the road. The day was filled with the sound of roaring engines and cheers from the specators set a great atmosphere for the days racing. It was a great day with fans of both sports enjoying the exposé of skills and bravery. If you missed it, sadly you are going to have to wait until next years event, and we hope to see you out there.

With a big thank you to ClubLoose and Team O’Neil for putting on a great event, please be sure to check out ClubLoose North and Team O’Neil on Facebook, making sure to catch as many of their events this season.

Drift the Streets – Lewiston: Live Q+A with Don’t Panic Consulting

Last Friday (12/2/16) We had the chance to sit in and participate during a Live Q+A for Drift the Streets-Lewiston, an event coming next year that is going to feature one of the biggest car shows in the state and competition drift cars, battling it out in downtown Lewiston.

There are still some details that need to be worked out for the event to go off without any issues and to get a feel for the questions and any concerns that the public and community may have, Don’t Panic Consulting hosted the Live Q+A. It was a chance for people to fire off any questions they may have about the drifting, the parking, the car show, ticket prices, anything and everything.2016-12-09_08-18-51

During the Q+A we got a chance to walk the actual drift course, a technical style course with plenty of great viewing spots for spectators to catch all the action. It’s a Sprint style course, Point A to Point B, which brings the drivers through some tight corners, a fast slalom, and in the bottom and out of the top of a parking garage. The 64 drivers this course is designed for are pro-caliber drivers, the racing will be side to side, tandem duels. It looks like it is going to be a great time with local food, nice cars and plenty of tire smoke.

2016-12-09_08-19-18We have had the opportunity to attend a couple meetings with Don’t Panic about Drift the Streets, and honestly it is in the right hands. This is a group that wants to bring an amazing event to our area and understands how much something like this means to the local community and car culture. They aren’t afraid to ask questions and reach out for help from others in the area, if they have a question they ask it. With an event that is this big, that is exactly what you want to see from the people running it.
